When? May 4-10, 2024
Why visit Natchez, Mississippi? History! Over 1,000 structures in Natchez are listed ont he National Registry of HIstoric Places including over 20 pre-civil war Antebellum homes. These glorious structures were owned by wealthy cotton and sugar plantation owners who built mansions to show off their wealth. We are lucky enough to tour and/or dine in several of them.
As a bonus, Natchez is perched high on the bluffs of the Mississippi River and locals welcome us with Southern hospitality and amazing food.
Onward to Vicksburg to tour the Vicksburg National Military Park and Vicksburg National Cemetery. The Seize of Vicksburg during the Civil War was key as the Confederacy surrendered giving control of the Mississippi to the Union.
This tour combines Southern hospitality, great food, Antebellum homes, and history for a perfect blend of fun and learning.
