The Almost Clueless Mystery Trip
For this avid photographer the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania and the
surrounding area was an amazing trip. The resort itself was an art lover’s paradise. Inside the
buildings and outside the vast complex were dozens of sculpture pieces in bronze, marble, glass,
ivory and jade. Many of them were sitting out in the open in the hallways of the connected
buildings. There were paintings, including originals by Norman Rockwell, plus numerous
Tiffany lamps, stained glass panels, Hermes silk scarves, and an impressive seashell collection.
In several cases the art pieces recounted the history of the area and the country, including Native
Americans like Chief Nemacolin. Besides the architecture and beauty of the resort, we were
treated to tours of two Frank Lloyd Wright homes: Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. For nature
lovers there was the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside and the Ohiopyle Falls. If that wasn’t
enough, there were the beautiful rooms we stayed in and the fine cuisine with synchronized
servers. Thank you, Merrill!!!
